Government Contracting Experience

In April 2000 I joined the Web development contract team for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s FAIR II contract in the Office of Research and Development. During my four and a half years on the contract I – –

  • designed, developed, reviewed, implemented, and maintained the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) and the Office of Resources Management and Administration (ORMA) Intra- and Internet Web sites (note: the basic design was mine and while many of the original elements remain, the content has changed since my departure from the contract);
  • edited and structured the ORD Internet Web site content in coordination with communications liaisons within EPA to ensure the content is written in an appropriate style and tone for the audience it serves — the general public — and that it is visually structured for Web readability;
  • was the lead technologist for ensuring that ORD/ORMA’s Intra- and Internet Web sites are fully compliant with the accessibility regulations in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
